SLR cameras adapters

Several types of adapters were offered to allow use lenses with different mount than the body. Due to the adapter thickness, distance between lens and film can be slightly increased, and, consequentyl, lens lose the focus to infinite. In some models, a negative optical element is included to compensate this variation: unfortunately, this affects to the performance of the lens.

According to the value of the film/lens distance of the different manufacturers (flange distance, specified in brackets) , some adapters maintain the infinite focus without optical elements. Among these, there are the following:

about this clasification

"brand; years made"

Two dates in brackets after brand name (19xx-19xx), are the year of the first model and the last year manufactured.
"19xx-19xx..."
means that is know the year that the last model was launch, but not until what year it remains in production.

"mount type"

Screw or bayonet type to fit on each camera body. The same denomination in different groups (for instance, 39 screw), doesn't mean necessarely that lenses of both series are compatibles, because film/lens distance can be different.

"original series lenses, denomination"

Different lenses series offered by the manufacturer. Compatibility of different series can be absolute, partial, restricted, or no compatible at all. Also, are mentioned original names that lenses were denominated (originally, this name was a reference about the optical design - Tessar, for instance)

"independent production: manufacturers"

Names of manufacturers who offered compatible lenses with each camera mount.
